BCR Cyber Series 3000

The BCR Cyber Series 3000 Cyber Range

A live cyberattack simulation platform that recreates a real enterprise computer network and runs real-world attacks against it, so trainees can detect, mitigate, and remediate threats in a safe, controlled environment.

Built for Hands-On Training

The Series 3000 Cyber Range is BCR Cyber’s proprietary training platform, now in its fourth generation. It recreates a real enterprise computer network, with the servers, workstations, security tools, and everyday traffic of a working organization, and launches live attack scenarios against it, from ransomware to insider threats. Trainees work inside that network as a security operations team, using the same kinds of tools a real security operations center uses, while instructors run the attack and guide the response. It is the cybersecurity equivalent of a flight simulator: the closest thing to handling a real attack, without the consequences of one.

Every scenario is written and reviewed with input from BCR Cyber’s Industry Consortium of more than 40 employers, so the skills practiced on the range are the skills employers hire for. The platform is developed, hosted, and supported by BCR Cyber.

How a Range Session Works

1. Training Setup: The trainer defines the training structure, taking into consideration its goals and the skills of the trainees. The relevant cyber-attack scenarios are selected, and the training network is cloned and allocated for each scenario.

2. Training Execution: The trainees work inside the cloned network as the selected attack scenarios run against it. Acting as a security team, they detect, mitigate, and remediate each attack while the trainer monitors progress and provides guidance as needed.

3. Training Review: The trainer debriefs the trainees by reviewing their performance during the session and analyzing the attack. The session concludes with group and individual feedback, a summary of lessons learned, and emphasis on improvement.

Bring the Series 3000 to Your Organization

BCR Cyber makes the Series 3000 Cyber Range available to colleges, school systems, government agencies, and employers, and trains their instructors to run it. Remote workstations connect classrooms and offices to a range hosted by BCR Cyber, so training can start without building anything on site.
