Cybersecurity Operational Methods Education and Training (COMET)The Cybersecurity Operational Methods Education and Training (COMET) was established to provide relevant, up-to-date training to Maryland state employees to elevate the ability of the workforce to identify and respond to the largest cybersecurity challenges facing the state government.
COMET training focuses on two subsets of the state workforce. Incumbent Training is for those building foundational knowledge, providing more entry-level employees with key skills in preparation for the CompTIA Sec+ certification. The second track, Advanced Incumbent Training, is designed for those seeking certification and includes preparation for the Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP) credential.
